Content Delivery Network (CDN)
NexNet Solutions CDN Solution allows service providers & ISPs to create a private CDN in their networks to efficiently distribute their own premium content offerings.
Content delivery network (CDN) is a large distributed system of servers deployed in multiple data centers in the Internet. The goal of a CDN is to serve content to end-users with high availability and high performance. CDNs serve a large fraction of the Internet content today, including web objects (text, graphics, URLs and scripts), downloadable objects (media files, software, documents), applications (e-commerce, portals), live streaming media, on-demand streaming media, and social networks.
With the ability to supports various delivery mechanisms from Web Site Acceleration, Download & Progressive Download, Live & On Demand Streaming to Web & Mobile (including iPhone & iPad) in various protocols from Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight & Smooth to HTTP, NexNet CDN solution enables our service provider customers to rollout a complete content distribution network and service to address all the digital delivery needs of their customers.
Designed as a 2 layer technology architecture compromising of Content Appliance (code nodes) and Delivery Appliance (delivery nodes), service providers can deploy and turn on their own CDN service with minimal upfront investment. As customer volumes grow, they can then scale their distribution capacity on demand by deploying more CDN Delivery Appliance nodes.
Features and Benefits:
- Increased Network Value – With CDN Service, network owner can deliver one of the key infrastructure components that the video service provider requires. Furthermore the network owner is ideally positioned to be able to differentiate the CDN solution that they offer through their ability to guarantee QoS all the way to the end-user.
- Extending Value beyond Traditional CDN – An indirect benefit to the network operator is that by increasing the quality and range of content available over their network they are able to differentiate their Internet access service and gain market share. There are also opportunities to bundle the video content available on the CDN with existing IPTV services in order to provide a more compelling service to end users.
